Zeiss makes its move into smartphone photography

In another piece of exciting news from CES 2016, Zeiss has announced that it has entered into a partnership with Fellowes Brands to create a premium line of lens accessories for smartphone photography.

There are three lenses in the range; a wide-angle, a telephoto, and a macro. The lenses are all ExoLens-branded and will feature ZEISS optics and will be made with black anodized aluminum with white labeling. The lenses feature T* anti-reflective ZEISS coating that helps to minimise reflections and improve light transmission.

A special mount made specifically for the device called the ExoLens bracket will be needed to mount the lenses. The bracket is machined aluminum and has a socket for the lens, a tripod mount and a cold shoes for accessories. It holds the lens from one side and the device from the other.

The lenses launch and ship in the second quarter of the year and will be compatible with the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus.
