Think you’ve got what it takes to be the next Huda Beauty? You’ll want to enter the talent hunt for an up-and-coming female vlogger – because you could win a cash prize of $35,000 (about Dh128,000). Consumer goods conglomerate Unilever will launch the contest on March 8, which coincides with International Women’s Day.
The content-marketing campaign, called Forsaty, is being run in collaboration with YouTube, and will run for a period of two months. Wannabe winners are expected to create vlogs around four brands from the international conglomerate: Dove, Pond’s, Sunsilk and Lipton.
Four regional social media stars will advise each entrant along the way: Alanoud Badr (Lady Fozaza), UN Change Ambassador Hayla Ghazal (Hayla TV), Mimi (Eswara) and Haifa Beseisso (Fly With Haifa).
A selection of 200 vlogs will be posted on the Forsaty microsite for public voting from March 19-20. Shortlisted entrants will proceed to a series of elimination challenges, and the final winner will be announced on April 13. The challenges include a hair tutorial, creating a time capsule of memories to contestants’ future selves, a focus on healthy choices, and a video about inspirational life moments. Each is linked to a different Unilever brand.
Besides the cash, the winning vlogger gets a year-long contract as Forsaty ambassador, as well as mentorship and workshops from YouTube.
