As we close in on this year’s Mobile World Congress, rumours from our favourite brands continue to pour in. The latest is Xiaomi’s Mi 6 line of phones. The grapevine suggests the Chinese company is working on three variants for the range.
There is the budget Mi 6 Youth, mid-range Mi 6 Standard and 2017 flagship Mi 6 Premier. If you’re thinking Xiaomi concentrated all its creativity into the devices and not the names, they are likely placeholders until the official announcement at their MWC 2017 unveiling.
We have an idea on the specs of each of the devices as well. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Youth will come with a MediaTek Helio X30 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and dual-lens rear camera. Expect it to be the smaller one of the two in the leaked images.
The mid-range Standard will have an OLED display with quad HD resolution. The processor here gets an upgrade to the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. It will have 4GB of RAM along with 128GB of internal storage.
The mighty Xiaomi Mi 6 Premier will also have a OLED display with quad HD resolution and Xiaomi borrows Samsung’s dual-edge screen design for its latest flagship. The Snapdragon 835 will be at its core with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will also have a full ceramic body, a growing trend among Chinese phone manufacturers.
That’s all we will know until Xiaomi’s official MWC 2017 unveiling of the phones. As with all rumours, don’t be surprised if some of the details mentioned here change. We’ll be bringing you all the awesome MWC coverage so keep checking back.
