Apple iPhone SE (2020) – What’s new?
As has always been the case with the iPhone SE, it’s Apple’s cheaper option. This remains true even in 2020 with the newly launched version of the device. Taking over from iPhone 8, the iPhone SE comes in taking its spot on the website.
Display and size
Looking very similar to the iPhone 8, the SE comes with glass on both the back and the front with the aluminium body on the side. It’s buttons galore with the Touch ID sensor remaining along with the volume button, alert toggle and power button.
This design isn’t really going to appeal to anyone. It’s the same design this size has had since the iPhone 6. That is a bit of a set back and probably the cost of getting a cheaper iPhone.
The display on the iPhone SE 2020 is a 4.7″ Retina IPS LCD panel with a screen resolution of 1330×750 and a 326 ppl pixel density. The display also comes with True Tone and Haptic Touch.
The iPhone SE comes with the same processing power as the iPhone 11 series thanks to the A13 Bionic chip inside it. Reports suggest that the SE will be coming with 3GB RAM.
The single camera on the back is a 12MP (f/1.8) which will come with portrait mode, night mode, smart HDR and much more. The front snapper is a meek 7MP (f/2.2) sensor. While Apple does make great smartphone cameras, the performance of the iPhone SE is yet to be seen.
The phone can shoot 4K @ 60fps. Now this is very cool. The device might just be a great option for content creators on a budget.
Battery and Charging
The battery on the iPhone SE is said to be a 1821mAh battery, the same size as the iPhone 8. That’s about 13 hours of video on a single charge.
Speaking of charging the iPhone SE comes with the capability for 18W charging but a 5W charger in the box. The phone can also wirelessly charge.
Like we mentioned earlier, the iPhone SE comes with Touch ID for security which isn’t a step behind but its not ideal either. Another plus for the phone is that its dual SIM (one regular SIM and an e-SIM). The iPhone SE will run iOS 13 and come with stereo sound speakers and audio sharing too.
