Switch to eSIM with a click on the Virgin Mobile app

Virgin Mobile is introducing on-demand switching from conventional SIM cards to eSIM directly from their mobile app. Customers won’t need to visit a physical store and can request the switch with the click of a button.

How to make the switch?

In order to make the switch, customers need to load up the app, select ‘My Numbers’ and then ‘Move to eSIM’. Once done, a verification SMS is sent to the registered mobile number for authentication. Once authorized, the eSIM is installed without having to visit any stores queuing up!

New Virgin Mobile customers can get it too

New customers who have an eSIM compatible device can directly register for it and get it activated within an hour via the Virgin Mobile app. The app allows new customers to choose a number or transfer their existing number from a different provider. They can then create their customized mobile plan with an eSIM in tow.

eSIM technology has been available in the UAE since late 2018, eliminating the need for physical SIM cards. Only newer phone models are compatible with this technology. You can find out more by visiting the Virgin Mobile website.
