Sony, in an extremely brief event today, unveiled the long-rumoured Playstation Slim and Pro (formerly referred to as Neo).
As you would imagine, the PS4 Slim is a smaller version of the PS4 and will be available from September 15. It is slimmer, lighter and has a few small changes in design compared to its predecessor. The PS4 Slim comes three years after the PS4 and will be priced at $299 (Dh1,098).
The PS4 Pro is the major upgrade to the PS4 and is coming to stores on November 10. It will be priced at $399. The PS4 Pro comes with a faster processor, better graphics thanks to an upgraded GPU, support for 4K resolution and a 1TB hard drive.
If you were already excited about 4K resolution, this should make you even happier. A firmware update next week will enable all PS4 devices to support HDR video and gaming. HDR imagery creates darker darks and lighter lights as well as enhancing the range between them. We already know how much it enhances gaming but this would be an all new dimension for gaming.
PS4 Pro owners will have better graphics on certain titles. As shown at the event with games such as Mass Effect: Andromeda, Horizon Zero Dawn, and an upcoming Spider-Man title.
