CES is where big players like Samsung come to show off their biggest and best technologies for the upcoming year. Samsung’s brilliance in TV making always gets us excited for what’s been brewing in their R&D department. This year they treat us to a gorgeous line of 8K OLED TVs and a mammoth display called The Wall.
Samsung unveiled its 98-inch QLED 8K television. It’s the largest one yet. It’s part of Samsung’s 2019 lineup that includes 65-inch, 75-inch, 82-inch and 85-inch models. The 2019 8K line is embedded with the Quantum Processor 8K chip and promises to deliver the best in QLED picture quality, design and smart features.
Its 98-inch QLED will take advantage of Quantum Dot screen tech, as well as making use of Direct Array Mobile Dimming, ensuring the contrast of the screen is as rich as it can be for each scene. It will also come ready to support HDMI 2.1, the forthcoming HDMI standard that can deliver adaptive framerates and advanced audio formats such as Dolby Atmos. Its screen will leverage the power of AI to upscale 4K content (and lower) to pristine 8K resolution. It uses thousands of individual algorithms to achieve this.
It’s a 219-inch Micro LED display and offers flexibility in screen size, allowing users to customize it to fit any room or space. This is a perfect offering for large-scale pop-ups, events and potential advertising space. Also a great addition to your living room, if it’s big enough.
Of course there’s no idea on pricing or availability yet, but rest-assured, coming to an electronics store near you very soon!
