Samsung Note 8: Camera

Rear camera

The Galaxy Note 8 is the first smartphone to have two 12MP rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) on both the wide-angle and telephoto lenses. You will be able to control the depth of field by allowing you to adjust the bokeh effect in preview mode as well as after you’ve taken the photo.

Another new mode is Dual Capture where both rear cameras take a picture simultaneously and allow you to save both images. One will be a close-up shot from the telephoto lens and the other a wide-angle shot that shows the entire background.

The wide-angle lens has a dual pixel sensor with rapid auto focus but it looks like the zoom lens doesn’t come with the dual pixel technology.

Front camera

The front snapper on the Note 8 comes with a 8MP smart auto focus.

Samsung Note 8: S Pen

The S Pen is back and its a lot of what was already there in the Note 7 and a few updates such as colouring and live messages. Here’s Samsung’s little infographic for whats new on the smart stylus.
