With a first-of-its-kind foldable glass, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip bends the laws of physics with a display that folds into a stylish and compact form factor. It features an innovative Hideaway Hinge and a custom-built UX for new ways to experience content.
Next-generation foldable experience
Samsung’s Galaxy Fold began the foldable era but with its Z Flip, the South Korean manufacturer wants to create foldable experiences that will surprise and delight. With a style that fits in your pock, the palm-sized Z Flip when opened reveals a 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity Flex Display. Accompanying this is its cover’s Super AMOLED display at 1.1-inches to quickly glance at information.
For its foldable display, Samsung uses its proprietary Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) for a slimmer profile and a feel in hand never seen on a foldable device before. It features no notches or distractions to enjoy your favorite content on its 21.9:9 form factor.
Not just this, the engineering behind the new Galaxy Z Flip is also a feat in itself. Its new Hindeaway Hinge is backed by a dual-cam mechanism for a smooth, satisfying and stable flip. The enhancement enables the Z Flip to stay open at a range of angles like a laptop screen. And to repel dust, the Z Flip uses a new sweeper technology made up of nylon fibers crafted by micro-height cutting technology.
A feature set that stands out
As mentioned before, the Z Flip can be used in an open position like a laptop. But going hand in hand with this is its Flex mode, where the phone’s display splits into two 4-inch screens when free-standing. This allows you to easily view images or videos on the top half of the display and control them on the bottom half.
In addition to this, the Galaxy Z Flip comes with a game changing camera. With it able to stand on its own, you can capture more content hands-free. While it features a 10MP selfie camera like the S20 series, its rear camera is made up of a 12MP ultra-wide sensor and 12MP wide sensor with Super Speed Dual Pixel AF, 4K video capture and optical image stabilization.
Enjoy the Galaxy ecosystem
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip boasts flagship-level performance. Inside, you find the Exynos 990 octa-core processor and 256GB of internal storage. There is also an optimized dual battery system in the Z Flip that holds more power without taking up more space with the 3,300mAh battery on board supporting both wired and wireless quick charge.
You will also feel at home with features such as Wireless PowerShare, Samsung Pay and Samsung Knox for security.
Pricing and availability
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip will be available in limited quantities in purple or black, starting in select markets including the UAE on February 14 for Dh5,499. A gold variant of the phone is also expected to launch in the future.
