The Samsung Galaxy Watch3 is a next-generation smartwatch aimed at managing your routines, fitness goals and taking control of your health. It was unveiled today at the virtual Unpacked 2020 alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note20 series.
Design and build
Samsung has gone for premium materials on its new smartwatch. It is built with stainless steel and features 5ATM, IP68 and MIL-STF-810G ratings when it comes to durability. Moreover, the watch comes with a slimmed-down version of the popular rotating bezel. While it has all the features of a luxury timepiece, it remains comfortable enought to wear all day and all night.
Expansive health suite
Being the center of your wellness experience, the Galaxy Watch3 can help you with fitness tracking. It comes with running coaching tools, advanced sleep scoring and support for home exercise using Samsung Smart View. With this, you can choose from 120 video workouts on the Samsung Health app, tracking your heart rate along the way while watching the workout routine on your Samsung Smart TV.
The smartwatch also sports a new Trip Detection feature to ensure help is never too far away if you take a hard fall. This allows you to send a custom SOS message to emergency contacts. You can also get a more comprehensive picture of your wellness with on-demand VO2 max and SpO2 readings. And while the watch supports ECG and blood pressure monitoring, these features are only available in select markets.
On the Galaxy Watch3, you find Wearable OS 5.5 running on 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. With this combination, you can access some of your favorite smartphone features like sending messages and emoticons, either through your smartphone via Bluetooth or stand-alone via LTE connectivity. And given contactless payments have taken precedence now more than ever, you can complete them directly from the Galaxy Watch3 using Samsung Pay.
