With large scale commercial 5G services launching in 2020, Realme’s X50 Pro 5G will help consumers adapt to this high-speed connectivity. Sticking to the company’s concept of “Dare to Leap”, the Realme X50 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 octa-core processor paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 memory running Realme UI on top of Android 10.
Durable build and design
Featuring a metal middle frame, the flagship smartphone also comes protected with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. As for the display, it is an ultra large 6.44-inch Super AMOLED 20:9 panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz sampling rate. This improves the touchscreen’s sensitivity and smoothness when playing games. Furthermore, the AMOLED panel means the phone comes equipped with an in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Instead of opting for a single front camera, the phone comes with a dual-sensor hole punch. This allows it to have a 32MP Sony IMX616 primary sensor as well as another 8MP ultra-wide sensor with a 105-degree field-of-view.
Optics and features
For the primary camera, the phone comes equipped with a primary 64MP quad-camera setup. This comes with upgrades such as Nightscape 3.0 and Ultra Nightscape Mode to enable better pictures during the day and night. Completing the setup is an 8MP ultra-wide lens with 3cm macro support, a 12MP telephoto one with 20x hybrid zoom and a portrait lens. The rear cameras support 4K video with UIS and UIS Max ultra video stabilisation.
Battery wise, you will find a 4,200mAh dual-cell battery on the smartphone. Combined with Realme’s 65W SuperDart fast charging, it can be charged from 0-100 per cent in just 35 minutes. Other hardware features include full-featured NFC and dual-speakers driven by Dolby.
Pricing and availability
Available in red or green, the Realme X50 Pro 5G will come in three variants. With 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage, it will be available for €599 (Dh2,407.69). Doubling the storage to 256GB will run you €669 (Dh2,689.05) whereas the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration will retail for €749 (Dh3,010.61) in Spain. We should see the phone in other European markets by April and soon, in the UAE market as well.
