Poco X2 is launching on February 4 with a 120Hz display

With Poco becoming a standalone company, we knew it was not long before it would announce a new smartphone. Today, it teased its Poco X2 which is launching on February 4.

High-end as expected

According to a series of pictures shared by the company, quite a lot about the phone is already known. They tease the phone’s display, charging capabilities, its Sony IMX686 64MP camera, liquid cooling and a Qualcomm processor.

It will be interesting to see if the processor on-board is the new octa-core Snapdragon 865, the Snapdragon 855 Plus from last year or some other processor altogether.

Tacky tagline

Many people may think the way Poco introduced its next smartphone on Twitter is a bit childish. It used #SmoothAF and directed users to a website that advertises the Poco X2 display’s refresh rate.

Funnily enough, Twitter warned me that the website might be unsafe due to its URL but I went ahead anyway. With the way the page is setup, there is no doubt Poco wants to downplay your current smartphone’s display. And if it still is not clear from the messages, the Poco X2 will definitely sport a 120Hz refresh rate display.

To push its narrative further, Poco prefers if you visit the web page on your smartphones and not on your desktops.

Pricing and availability

So far, all we know about the Poco X2 are its major specifications. But with the launch scheduled for next Tuesday, the wait for the smartphone will not be too long. As for pricing, Poco has done a good job with its F1 in the past so we could expect something similar. But we are not sure if Poco plans to make this device available in the UAE just yet.
