Poco X2 goes official with a 64MP quad-camera and punch-hole 120Hz 6.67-inch display

Were you expecting a high-end processing experience from the Poco X2?

Poco’s F1 (aka Pocophone F1 outside India) garnered a lot of praise when it released in late 2018. But ever since its launch, the company had gone extremely quiet. Now, a year and a half later, the Poco X2 is here to change that. It is not a direct successor of the Poco F1 but is rather a re-branded Redmi K30, which is currently available in China.

RealityFlow 120Hz display

The X2 brings a 6.67-inch 20:9 RealityFlow Full HD+ display. It is an IPS LCD panel which supports HDR10 and has a refresh rate of 120Hz. For the time being, there is a list of applications that can take advantage of this refresh rate but for those that do not, the display also supports an intelligent dynamic refresh rate feature.

On the top right corner of the screen, you find a pill-shaped punch-hole which accommodates the dual 20MP and 2MP selfie cameras. And powering the experience is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G SoC running MIUI 11 and Android 10 out of the box. The phone comes in three memory configurations, which are 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB. The on-board storage is UFS 2.1 type and you will be able to expand on this via a micro-SD card.

64MP Sony IMX686 camera sensor

On the back, the Poco X2 sports a quad-camera setup. This is made of a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro and a 2MP depth sensor.

For enthusiasts, Poco has gone the extra mile to bundle some useful features. This includes support for RAW images, video recording up to 960fps slow-motion and a VLOG mode.

Neat hardware additions

Aside from the typical hardware feature set, the phone comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack and liquid cooling technology to dissipate heat during gaming. Instead of an in-screen fingerprint scanner, the phone has a side-mounted one on the right edge. You will also find an IR blaster, VoWiFi, Hi-Res sound and P2i water-repellent coating for day to day convenience.

As for charging, the phone sports a Type-C USB port capable of speeds up to 27W. According to Poco, this can charge the 4,500mAh battery on the phone to 100 per cent in 68 minutes.
