So what’s new?
OnePlus devices have been strikingly smooth devices to use and this year should be the same. The OnePlus 8 series comes with the Snapdragon 865, 8 or 12GB of RAM, 128 or 256GB of storage and OnePlus’ highly customizable Oxygen OS.
This year the OnePlus 8 Pro sees a major jump with a new quad camera setup. There’s the main 48MP wide IMX689, the ultra-wide 48MP (highest on any smartphone) IMX586, a 8MP telephoto camera with 3X hybrid zoom and 30x digital zoom and a colour filter camera. The last of the lot is meant to give users easier access to artistic capabilities and colour filters while shooting images. The video on the 8 Pro is stabilized with OIS as well as EIS.
The OnePlus 8 comes with at triple camera setup with a 48MP wide sensor, 16MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro sensor.
One of the most discussed features in today’s presentation was the display on the OnePlus 8 Pro. The display comes in at 6.78″, has QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz Touch Sampling rate. The display peaks at 1300 nits and comes with 10-bit colours, meaning you get 1 billion colours on the 8 Pro display. OnePlus also claims the devices one with extreme colour accuracy to the point where it looks almost like it does in real life, thanks to their JNCD (Just Noticable Colour Difference) score of approximately 0.4.
The OnePlus 8 Pro is also the company’s first device to come with 30W wireless charging as well as reverse wireless charging.
