NVIDIA GeForce NOW is going mobile with its Android application

The future of gaming will be in your hands thanks to NVIDA GeForce NOW

Cloud gaming has been on rise this year however NVIDIA has been enjoying it for quite some time now. More than 1,000 games have been streamed from GeForce NOW (GFN) servers so far. Since its public beta, the company has been focused on developing the best cloud gaming service. Now, the company is rolling out the revolutionary GeForce RTX graphics performance to its GFN network in Germany with GFN set to be available on Android mobile later this year.

RTX performance in the cloud

At NVIDIA’s GPU Technology Conference earlier this year, the company announced RTX servers. Games in northern California and Germany will be the first to take advantage of GeForce RTX performance. Over time, this will expand to data centres throughout North America and Europe.

Over 2 billion new screens

GeForce NOW will soon extend to one of the most popular screens in the world, Android phones. These include popular flagship devices from LG and Samsung.

Just like on PC, Mac and Shield TV, the Android app will be in beta upon release. This way, NVIDIA can continue improving and optimising the experience. To take full advantage of the mobile experience, NVIDIA recommends gaming on a Bluetooth gamepad as some games will be unplayable on an Android phone without it.

Open platform for gamers

The GeForce NOW service connects to popular digital game stores bringing their game libraries with them This includes new release and hit titles such as Falout 76, Fortnite, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to name a few. With this, you can play the games you already own across all your devices.

There is already support for over 500 games, with compatibility for thousands more. Since games are purchased from popular digital stores, gamers can still down and play locally. Therefore a second purchase is not required to play them on the cloud.

Play starting today

Available on Mac, PC and Shield TV, GeForce NOW is transforming these devices into full-blown gaming rigs. It is a gaming PC in the cloud for hardware that is not game ready. GeForce NOW will be the first gaming rig that you will never have to worry about upgrading, patching or updating. And like any great platform, it will continue to improve with more big announcements to come later this year.
