NVIDIA and Asus announce a 360Hz display made for e-sports

NVIDIA has unveiled a brand new display in collaboration with ASUS that’s solely targeted to the lucrative esports community. This new display titled the ASUS ROG Swift 360 will clock in a refresh rate of 360Hz, promising to be the fastest display ever made.

360Hz G-SYNC technology

For the uninitiated, when playing fast-paced games typical in e-sports, response time is everything. Some of the greatest gamers of all time have the quickest response times and that can be helped with superior hardware and software. The ASUS ROG Swift 360 is touted as being 6X faster than traditional gaming displays and TVs. The screen measures in at 24.5-inches and will support a resolution of 1080p. It’s the first display to make use of NVIDIA’s 360Hz G-SYNC technology. First introduced in 2013, NVIDIA G-SYNC has known for its Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology that eliminates tearing by synchronizing the refresh rate of the display with the GPU’s frame rate.

A 360Hz refresh rate means game frames are displayed once every 2.8 milliseconds. With all of this happening under the hood, the Swift 360 supports smoother animations, lower latency and less ghosting than its predecessors, which tend to cap things between 120Hz and 240Hz.

NVIDIA will be demonstrating the new display at this CES 2020 with pricing and availability details to follow.
