HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns the rights to manufacture smartphones under the Nokia brand name, is having an aggressive 2017. There’s no denying Nokia’s strong brand recall and presence in consumer’s minds. It has tried to innovative in the past but failed. Now HMD is trying hard to rectify mistakes made by its predecessor.
Nokia 8 made its flashy launch only last month in the UAE and we already have murmurs of an upgraded variant on the way.
Nokia 8: 6GB RAM, 128GB storage
HMD seems to have confirmed through a report of a FCC filing that referred to a variant of the Nokia 8 with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The report notes its release date being October 20 in Europe, specifically in Germany.
Price and availability
No news on what the new Nokia 8 variant will be called and there’s no news on when the rest of the world can expect to get its hands on it either. It’s safe to say that it’ll be a while before the device makes its way to our sandy shores, considering how new the Nokia 8 is to the market.
When it does finally get here, expect it to be available only in a Polished Blue color version. As for the pricing, the Nokia 8 variant will supposedly be priced at €669 (about Dh2,936), a big leap from the Dh1,699 Nokia 8.
