Samsung S7 and S7 Edge have moisture detection for charging

One feature that got everyone jumping in joy when the S7 and S7 Edge were released was their IP68 waterproof certification.

We’ve all seen and read different issues users have had due to water entering ports, but Samsung seems to have installed a fail-safe to prevent damage to your phone after a plunge in the pool. The fail-safe is called moisture detection.

Moisture detection basically won’t let you charge your phone as soon as you’ve pulled it out of a wet environment. Users report that when they plug in their phones to charge after removing it from pools and such situations they see a message displaying “moisture detected in charging port”.

Now this is definitely a great feature from Samsung to help consumers protect their new devices, but users claim not being able to charge their devices for up to four hours.

We’ll let you know more as we test these out ourselves.
