Now that the ill-famed Note 7 has been discontinued, it was inevitable that we would soon begin to hear rumours about the Samsung Galaxy S8 or new Note. With this one though, Samsung will be on everyone’s watch list and they have to make sure they get it right.
So far, there haven’t been any leaks of hardware, images or videos. Rumours are plenty and if all of them are to be believed, this is might be the one to watch out for.
The latest rumours suggest there might be a 256GB variant of the S8. It purportedly comes packing 6GB of RAM too. Considering that a number of competitor flagships are equipped with the same, it only seems logical that Samsung follows suit.
Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 835-soc or Samsung’s homegrown Exynos 9 Series chip may power the Samsung Galaxy S8. One rumour suggests the possibility of wireless charging and a new virtual assistant as well.
Design-wise, we can expect a curved screen on an edge model. A slick shape and an improved camera are likely to feature as well. The South Korean company’s mobile-communications vice-president himself passed the above comment. A dual camera setup was developed for the phone to improve photography quality. There’s also an optical fingerprint sensor under the screen, pressure-sensitive display to replace capacitive keys an iris scanner and a physical home button.
We could expect to see an unveiling of the actual phone early in 2017. This is if there are no leaks of the device from the company itself. No word is out on pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy S8, but stay tuned to know more.
