Dubai really has to be the first at everything huh? What a wonderful city we live in, I must say.
We got in touch with LG Gulf for their view on the matter, below is their reply, together with an invite and a link to the “LG G5 Day”.
“As a matter of policy, LG Electronics cannot comment on any stories related to yet-to-be announced products. We are excited about hosting the ‘LG G5 Day’ and we urge you to join the excitement and learn more about G5 on http://lgplaymore.com at 2.00 PM CET on Sunday, 21st February.”
The G5 was listed as “brand new” and “perfect inside and out” – well it should be since the phone will be officially announced on Sunday next week at the tech-fest that is the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The device was priced at Dh2,500 ($680).
The model that went on sale seems to be the pre-release version. It features the G5 logo seemingly etched into the lower-rear of the device. Luckily there is no more plastic – since we can clearly see the all-metal body. The phone also features a circular fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup which was recently reported by everyone’s favourite leaker @evleaks.
We can’t make out if it features the slot below the device, shown in the renderings below by sourced by Cnet Korea, but we will know more in 4 days.
Before you head onto Dubizzle – save yourself the clicks, taps and swipes – the LG G5 isn’t on there anymore.
Whoever bought it, if you’re reading this, may we please take you out over the weekend?
