Google’s latest Android platform distribution numbers reveal that Marshmallow – the latest iteration of the mobile OS – is now powering 0.7 per cent of all active Android devices worldwide, up from the December’s figure of 0.5 per cent. But KitKat still rules the roost.

Lollipop on the other hand gained around 3 per cent share, reaching a total of 32.6 per cent this month. KitKat remains the king of the hill with 36.1 per cent Android market share. Jelly Bean’s share stood at 24.7 per cent, while Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread’s share were 2.7 per cent and 3 per cent, respectively. Froyo’s share stood at 0.2 per cent.
