Last month we discussed the teaser that Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand, showed us. It showed the launch of Honor’s next flagship device. Yesterday, the Honor V8 was released.
Like its predecessor, the Honor 7, the V8 is an absolute beast at a budget price. It comes with a 2.5D curved 5.7-inch Full HD display or a Quad HD display. It’s powered by either a octa-core Kirin 955 (a quad-core 2.5GHz A72 with a quad-core 1.8 GHz A53) or the Kirin 950 (2.3GHz 4 quad-core A72 plus a 1.8GHz quad-core A53) processor supported by 4GB of RAM.
The device has a 12MP Dual Primary Camera with laser autofocus, dual tone dual-LED flash and a 8MP front-facing camera. It will come with 32 and 64GB storage options and will be expandable to 128GB through microSD.
The Huawei Honor V8 will be available in ceramic white, platinum silver, rose gold, champagne gold, ice silver and grey colour options.
Pricing and Availability
As you can see above, apart from storage there are even choices when it comes to display and processing power. That’s why we have a few different pricing options.
– V8 with 1080p HD Screen + 32GB Storage + Kirin 950 SoC without NFC – 2,299 yuan (about Dh1,293)
– V8 with 1080p HD Screen + 32GB Storage + Kirin 950 SoC with NFC and higher network support – 2,499 yuan
– V8 with QHD Screen + 64GB Storage + Kirin 955 SoC – 2,799 yuan
Note that these prices are for China and there is no news yet on pricing and availability for this region, but if 2015 serves as any kind of indication, we’re sure the device will be here soon.
