Recently rumours circulated about BlackBerry’s plans to release two new Android devices this year. Both mid-range devices were expected to be released in 2016 and now one of them has surfaced on GFXBench.
Code-named Hamburg, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 615, has a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Cameras are 12MP on the rear and 8MP in front. The device’s model number shows as STH100-x and it runs Android 6.0.1 straight out of the box.
Mid-range is currently the segment in the smartphone world that is a focus for many brands such as Samsung, Xiaomi and Meizu. Affordable pricing with top specs has proven to be a winning formula for these brands over the past two years. Considering BlackBerry’s Enterprise market and its concentration on the same, mid-range devices can provide the help the Canadian brand is desperately looking for.
There is no news of when the devices are set to release or the prices but do keep an eye on this space for to know more.
