Motorola's packed in some impressive features for devices that could be yours for under Dh1,000

Will the G5's attractive price see it take off in the UAE?

The Moto G series started in 2013, and this year we got to see its fifth iteration: the G5 and G5 Plus.

Moto G5

What can you expect for $199 (Dh731)? Apparently quite a lot! The Moto G5 comes with a 5-inch Full HD display, is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor supported by 2GB of RAM and microSD-expandable 16GB or 32GB storage options.

The rear camera is 13MP with f/2.0 aperture and phase-detect autofocus, while the front cam is a 5MP f/2.2 wide-angle setup. For security, you’ve got a fingerprint reader and a 2,800mAh battery that charges at 10W (not fast charging, but it’s great considering this is a budget phone). The best part? It comes with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box!

Moto G5 Plus

The Moto G5 Plus needs its own spotlight too. The device is powered by the highly popular Snapdragon 625 (2GHz octa-core). Storage and RAM have two options, namely 32GB/2GB or 64GB/3GB.

The camera on the G5 Plus is a 12MP dual-pixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.7. 4K recording is supported too. The G5’s 5MP sensor is on the front here too. The battery is 3,000mAh with turbo charging. The G5 Plus is going to be priced at $229 for the 2GB RAM/32GB storage and $279 for 3GB RAM/64GB storage. The G5 Plus also comes with Nougat.

Both device have full metal uni-bodies. While the G5 will be available in the Middle East and North Africa in March, the G5 Plus is said to arrive around the end of April.
