LG unveils first ever UltraGear gaming laptop

The LG 17G90Q is its first gaming laptop in the UltraGear lineup. It features power in a sleek design to deliver a gaming experience on-the-go.

Design and build

LG’s gaming laptop shares its DNA with its lightweight gram series with a streamlined and highly portable design. It packs a 17-inch screen and an impressive 93Wh battery without impacting thickness nor weight, at 21.4mm and less than 2.7kg. On the exterior, the laptop has an aluminum casing for both style and durability.

Inside, the LG 17G90Q features an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor coupled with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card, dual-channel memory and an ultra-fast dual SSD setup. Its display features a 300Hz refresh rate with a 1ms second response time for immersive and fluid gameplay. Moreover, LG’s cooling system with vapor chamber technology keeps the laptop running cool at all times.

LG’s gaming laptop is incredibly sleek

Hardware aside, the laptop has software tweaks that come via LG’s gaming software. LG UltraGear Studio lets you customize gaming-related options and track a variety of performance data including CPU clock, GPU TDP and clock, and memory share rate in real time. For added customization, users can also choose and apply a different color to every single key of the laptop’s RGB keyboard.

LG’s first gaming laptop will initially be available in the USA and South Korea from early 2022 with other markets to follow. We will keep you updated as we hear more about local availability and pricing.
