Lenovo has an impressive line-up this CES. The Chinese brand has already wowed gamers with the new Legion series. Now it’s amazing the rest of us with the upgraded Yoga series. Artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced audio/display technologies are just some of the innovations Lenovo is making with the series.
The Smarter Yoga S940
The new Yoga S940 is an ultra-slim laptop that offers AI integration among its many features. One of the cool additions by this AI is that it can filter out ambient noise or even blur backgrounds. This is handy when making video or VOIP calls in public spaces. For example, sitting in crowded coffee shops or a busy home, or even while commuting.
Another cool feature is auto locking, where the AI detects if you step away from your screen, and auto-locks to prevent others looking into your data. Sure it could be annoying but it is a feature that can be enabled or disabled based on need.
The Yoga S940 also features Glance by Mirametrix AI-powered attention-sensing software including face, eyes and gaze sensing that can help increase productivity too. These are all a part of the Lenovo Smart Assist AI-enabled features.
It also includes hands-free PC log-in through its built-in infrared (IR) camera. There’s also a new simultaneous language transcription and translation feature, so that any words spoken in English or Mandarin Chinese can be automatically transcribed into writing and translated. As with most AI, the S940 learns and adapts to you and your usage, helping to optimise performance.
The Yoga S940 has Windows 10, up to Intel Core, up to 16GB LPDDR3 memory and up to 1TB PCIe SSD storage for the powerful performance one would expect to get things done. Its battery should last you 15 hours based on usage, weighs in at a mere 1.2kg and has a gorgeous 14-inch 4K screen with Dolby Vision.
Create with the Powerful Yoga A940
The new Yoga A940 all-in-one desktop is here to satisfy all artists and designers. It is a powerful and creative powerhouse with a large 27-inch 4K IPS touchscreen display with Dolby Vision. It also features a rotating hinge that allows you to tilt the display to a comfortable 25-degree drafting mode. This makes it easy to draw, sketch or even make changes and notes using a digital pen.
Say hello to the Lenovo Precision Dial, a controller that’s made with designers, photographers and illustrators in mind. It allows them to make precise and minute adjustments and additions to detail and content. Simply scroll the dial to select or adjust features such as brush stroke, tip size, opacity and flow rate. The dial is currently optimised for Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom and Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Sound is provided by built-in front-facing speakers and a second set under the rotating display. These are boosted by the Dolby Atmos Speaker System. The Yoga A940 also comes with AI features such as the S940. It comes equipped with up to eighth-gen Intel Core i7 processors, AMD Radeon RX 560 discrete graphics, up to 32GB DDR4 memory and up to 512GB PCIe SSD or up to 2TB SATA HDD storage, making it the ideal workstation in a content creators home or work space.
