LG debuts world’s thinnest OLED TV in the Middle East

LG wowed us at IFA with the V30 and now they bring us a stunning, almost paper-thin OLED TV, which we got to see at the company’s recent Signature line launch. LG’s Signature OLED TV W is a 77/65-inch marvel featuring a semi-flexible screen that is just 2.57mm thick. It is officially coined as the world’s thinnest OLED television.

Art for your living room

Bonded on a transparent glass plate for an elegant design, LG has pioneered the less is more aesthetic and this is evident in the Signature OLED TV W, which sees everything stripped away to emphasize the beauty of the screen alone. It comes only with a wall mount option to make it stand out on a wall or a window. That’s how TVs these days are trying to beat the competition: by selling themselves as a piece of art in your living room, thanks to cutting-edge sleek design and beautiful resolution.

“People across the region truly appreciate design as well as products that exude the highest quality and superior performance,” says Kevin Cha, President LG Electronics, Middle East and Africa. “They are constantly surrounding themselves with the most elegantly crafted products and we are confident that the LG Signature OLED TV W will thrive in this region and set a new standard for other TV manufacturers to follow over the coming years, especially due to its projected growth.”

Engineering

LG engineers and designers have developed a technology called the W-station. It houses a the TV’s vital electronic components allowing the back to be flat and fit perfectly on a wall without a bulge. It comes with Active HDR featuring improved colours, increased contrast and the ability to push brighter highlights alongside deeper shadows to generate even brighter scenes and greater shadow detail for HDR content. It also supports multiple HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma). This year, LG partnered with globally renowned and Hollywood colour experts Technicolor for all its OLED and Super UHD TVs to ensure its TVs produce the most vividly accurate colours possible. The 77-inch LG Signature OLED TV W is one of the first in the world to incorporate Dolby Atmos sound, helping you get that much-needed theatre-quality shows in your living room.
