A few days ago, Oppo announced the R9 and R9 Plus. Both phones are pretty much what you would expect out of any mid-range device except for one massive feature: they both have 16MP cameras on the front.
The R9, which is going to be know as the F1 Plus in the Middle East, has a 16MP selfie snapper and a 13MP rear camera. The R9 Plus, which is only available in China, has a 16MP on the front as well as the back.
The R9 (F1 Plus) will come with a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset (octa-core architecture), 4GB of RAM, a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 64 GB storage, microSD slot and a 2,850mAh battery. With the R9 Plus, you have the Snapdragon 652 chipset, a 6-inch Full HD display, 4K video and a larger 4,120mAh battery. Both devices come with an incredibly quick fingerprint readers that can recognise the user’s fingers in 0.2 seconds.
Pricing and availability
The R9 (F1 Plus) will start at about $430 (Dh 1,580) and the R9 Plus will be approximately $510. We don’t yet have any confirmation of when the R9 (F1 Plus) will be available in the UAE but watch this space for the same.
