Action cams are now a dime a dozen. Big to small brands, everyone’s got one. The latest company to jump on the bandwagon is Kodak.
Kodak announced the SP360 4K, which is a small cube with the ability to record 4K (3,840X2,160) using a 12.4MP sensor.
The device records in two modes: front and global. Front being the mode where it records in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Global being the mode where the aspect ratio changes to 1:1 with a resolution of 2,880×2,880. The image captured are almost spherical, 360 degrees horizontal and 235 degrees vertical. The camera can be controlled through your Android or iPhone using its in-built Wi-Fi.
Now the awesome part of the SP360 4K is that when you have two of them, and you pair them back to back, they can record VR film.
The Kodak SP360 4K goes for $499 (Dh1,833), but it is also selling a bundle pack — two cameras for $899 (Dh3,303) which includes the dual-camera mount and the software to process everything together post shooting.
