Bethesda Game Studios just confirmed that Fallout 76, one of the biggest titles for 2018, will be an exclusive to Bethesda.net, and won’t be listed on Steam.

PCGamer reported that a Bethesda representative confirmed that the PC version of the game, as well as its beta, will not be available on Steam, the largest PC gaming marketplace. Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines also tweeted about this:

By going around Steam, Bethesda will avoid paying Valve a cut of its sales. However, this comes as quite a surprise as all the previous Fallout games and their expansions are available on Steam. On the other hand, it is worth noting that the game might eventually make its way to Steam, similar to Fallout Shelter, which is now on Steam.
Fallout 76 beta and release dates

The Fallout 76 beta starts in October, though specific start dates for PS4, Xbox One and PC have not been announced yet. There are rumours that the beta will be the full version of the game, with progress carrying forward to the full release in November. The game is set to be an always-online, multiplayer-focused experience, which have piqued the interest of the community.
Fallout 76 launches on November 14 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
