Huawei P40 and P40 Pro to come with dual-mode 5G

2020 will truly be the year of 5G

The Huawei P40 series is not expected until the end of March. But even so, both the P40 and P40 Pro have already been listed on Chinese certification agency TENAA.

Four models listed

The Huawei P40 sports the model numbers ANA-AN00 and ANA-TN00 while the P40 Pro has the model numbers ELS-AN00 annd ELS-TN00. We think the four models could mean two Chinese variants and two global devices.

From the listings, we cannot make out much more though. It seems that both phones will support dual-mode 5G, have dual-SIM card slots and will run Android OS.

Huawei P40 Premium

Aside from the two smartphones listed, we are also expecting a top-end P40 Premium from Huawei. The smartphone will feature a penta-camera setup including a periscope telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom.

As for the P40, it is expected to come quad-camera setup which includes a 52MP main camera, 40MP cine and an 8MP telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom.

Notch-less curved display

Aside from upgraded connectivity and optics, Huawei is also looking to change its P-series in terms of looks. Earlier, we saw a render of the alleged device with a curved display in all four directions. This is interesting considering Samsung is silently moving away from curved displays with its Galaxy S20 lineup. In either case, with plenty of time before the Huawei P40 series is official, we can definitely expect more leaks leading up to its launch.
