The Huawei Nexus 6P was definitely a device to be remembered. It’s a premium smartphone with impressive hardware and roaring internal specs. It was definitely my favourite device of 2015. And now, a report from benchmarking software Geekbench may have revealed the specs of the next Nexus device, and their performance.
The 6P packed a strong set of tech specs with a Snapdragon 810 SoC supported by 3GB of RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 3,450mAh battery, an 8MP selfie snapper as well as a superb 12.3MP rear cam.
A few days ago, the Nexus 6P was spotted on Geekbench with specs even better than these. It seemed to powered by Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocking in 1.59GHz coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device scored 2,162 points in single core and 4,956 in multi core test. However, it should be noted that the motherboard was named Marlin on the test.
There are two things to take away from this. Either Huawei is releasing or working on an updated 6P or Google is testing out the upcoming Nexus M1 specs installed in a Huawei Nexus 6P. As discussed the other day, HTC will be bringing us two Nexus devices this year, codenamed M1 (Marlin) and S1 (Sailfish).
Which one of these two it remains a mystery. Until then, we’ll have to wait and see.
