Smartphone brand Honor today launched the Honor 9X, the latest member of its X-series, in the UAE. The new mid-range device claims to come with next-generation technology in design, photography and performance.

The sleek-looking smartphone comes with a 48MP triple camera and a 6.59” FullView Display. The smartphone comes with EMUI 9.1 (Android 9.0) and an accessible price point of Dh999. At this price point, the device stands out due to its X-shaped design on its back and pop-up camera mechanism.

Honor 9X – Photography

The Honor 9X comes equipped with a 48MP Triple Camera that features an f/1.8 aperture and ½-inch sensor. Powered by AI algorithms, its AIS Super Night Mode will let you produce clearer photos even in dimly-lit environments, and the inclusion of a 120° Super Wide Angle Camera helps users capture more in every single shot.

The front camera on the Honor 9X is a motorised 16MP pop-up selfie camera which has fall-detection and has been tested to handle pressure.

Honor 9X – Dynamic X Design

The front of the Honor 9X boasts an immersive 6.59” FullView Display, Honor’s full screen display technology with no notch or cut-out on the screen, providing a zero distraction viewing experience. Its LCD screen is one of the largest display on an Honor device with a 91% screen-to-body ratio. This is possible thanks to the pop-up mechanism of the front camera, that retracts back to the device when not needed.

In addition to the front display, the Honor 9X’s back panel is made of over 100,000 geometric ‘diamond-cut’ tiles that reflect and refract light to create the unique ‘Dynamic X Design’. The Honor 9X comes in a dazzling Sapphire Blue and the all-time favourite Midnight Black.

“At Honor, we believe in staying at the forefront of technological innovation and smartphone design in order to provide the best-in-class experiences for our users,” said Chris Sun Baigong, President of Honor Middle East and Africa.

Other Honor 9X features

The Honor 9X will come with the Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F (12 nm) chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In the scenario you need more, the storage is explandable up to 512GB through micro-SD.

The battery on the Honor 9X is a 4000mAh battery and should power you through a whole day. You also have a 3.5mm headphone jack on the phone and USB type-C connectivity and charging.
