It’s been a cracking few days at E3 2018 taking place in Los Angeles. Last night it was Sony’s turn to kill the competition with announcements to overshadow all other studios. Here’s a breakdown of some of the most awesome news and announcements from Sony and PlayStation.

The Last Of Us Part 2

Sony didn’t need to think twice about how tokick offf their E3 press conference. The highly anticipated and awaited Last Of Us Part 2 was shown off in an in-depth, 11-minute gameplay trailer that basically a short film. Doesn’t matter if you’ve never played or heard of the franchise (if that’s even possible) – the video is a must-watch.

The Last of Us Part 2 has been in development since 2014 and follows the same protagonists from the 2013’s The Last Of Us, five years later. Players will play as Ellie, who is now a grown girl, and will feature a more brutal gameplay than the first installment. The above trailer reveals four new characters that will be vital to the two main character’s journeys.

Death Stranding

Exactly 2 years ago, Hideo Kojima gave the world it’s first glimpse at his newest creation: Death Stranding. We loved it and couldn’t wrap our heads around it. Two E3s later, we see a glorious gameplay trailer featuring Norman Reedus, teased in 2016, joined by more famous cast members. The game continues to enthrall with very little to go on. The graphics are astounding and the gameplay alludes to a survivor genre game with some unique mechanics to top it off.

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Of all comic book based games, Spider-Man games have always been the most fun. The latest installment from the brilliant guys at Insomniac is launching as early as September and we can’t get enough teasers.

We got to see a brand new trailer and it takes place during a riot at a supermax prison; the Raft. The riot was caused by Electro, introduced to be part of this game for the first time. Electro has let all the inmates lose in typical villain style and Spidey has been called to save the day. Hoping for more villains? Well you got it. Scorpion, Mr. Negative, Vulture and Rhino are all present.

Ghost of Tsushima

Sony debuted the gameplay trailer of an upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive that looks incredible. It follows the last samurai on the Japanese island of Tsushima in the 13th century. The Mongols are invading Japan and it’s now up to the samurai to save his home.

It’s an absolutely stunning game and you get the play as one of the coolest warriors to exist in history. Players will be making the most of samurai weaponry and combat skills. Along with slashing katanas, players will need to make use of cunning stealth to evade and conquer enemies. No fixed release date yet but it’s set for release in 2019.
