Asus Zenbook Pro 15 comes with a 5.5-inch touchscreen for a touchpad

Will this go toe to toe with the MacBook Pro?

At Computex 2018, Asus unveiled the latest addition to its premium laptop range, the Asus ZenBook Pro, and it has one unique feature. A fully functional 5.5-inch touchscreen where the regular touchpad should be.

ScreenPad: The world’s first smart touchpad

Boasting the title of “world’s first smart touchpad”, the ScreenPad works as a multifunctional touch-enabled display, with various supported applications while even serving as a launchpad. The ScreenPad can be turned into a calculator, calendar, numeric keypad and more. Additionally, you can also play YouTube videos on it, or use it as a secondary display.

Asus and Microsoft teamed up to develop Office integrations for the ScreenPad. This brings a lot of Word, Excel and Powerpoint shortcuts to the ScreenPad. Additionally, the ScreenPad can also function as a music and video playback controller, with support for Spotify. Asus mentioned that it will release a ScreenPad developer kit and will have a website ready with compatible applications, making things a lot easier.
