Apple’s new iPad Pro is its most advanced yet, featuring a new processor, enhanced software and improvements imaging technologies including an ultra-wide camera and a LiDAR scanner.
Trackpad support on iPadOS 13.4
With a trackpad, Apple wants users to experience their iPad in a new way. Instead of copying the traditional macOS trackpad experience, it has been completely re-imagined for the iPad. When moving across either the 11-inch or 12.9-inch Liquid Retina display, the pointer transforms to highlight user interface elements. Furthermore, multi-touch support means you can navigate the system without lifting your hand.
Alongside the new iPad Pro, Apple also showcased its new Magic Keyboard. It has a floating design with smooth angle adjustment, backlit keys and a trackpad. This is expected to go on sale in May starting for Dh1,199 and will work with the previous generation iPad Pro.
A12Z Bionic processor
Tailored for 4K video editing and 3D design, the eight-core GPU on the processor gives you a performance boost and better thermal performance. This, in combination with the eight-core CPU and powerful Neural Engine delivers incredible performance in a thin and lightweight chassis.
Furthermore, the edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display brings P3 wide colour support for vivid and true to life multimedia. Its ProMotion technology automatically adjusts the display refresh rate up to 120Hz for smooth scrolling and responsiveness.
Pro camera and breakthrough LiDAR scanner
The new iPad Pro features a 12MP wide camera camera alongside a new 10MP ultra-wide unit. The tablet supports 4K video recording and enables different perspectives for creative professionals by adding an extra camera. In conjunction with this, you also get five studio-quality microphones that deliver super clean audio making the new iPad Pro a versatile mobile studio for many.
Apple’s LiDAR scanner on the other hand can measure the distance to surrounding objects up to 5 meters away. The tight integration of both the A12Z chip and depth frameworks in iPadOS allows users to experience a new class of AR experiences. Furthermore, the LiDAR scanner improves the Measure application, to easily calculate one’s height more accurately. There is also a new Ruler View built into the application for granular measurements with the ability to save screenshots for future use.
