Acer’s popular convertible notebooks get new additions in the Spin 5 and Spin 3 and the Swift 3 adds to its ultraportable series of notebooks at CES 2020. The Swift 3 series caters to people on-the-go with features allowing easy note-taking, sketching and even conducting presentations. The new Spin notebooks come with a flexible design and options of high-resolution touch displays with 360-degree hinges.
Acer Spin 5 and Spin 3
The new Spin series models are slimmed down to make their convertible form factors more efficient across multiple usages. They can be used as a tablet, a notebook, a display and even in tent form. The 360-degree hinges make it easy to switch from one mode to another. The Spin 5 measures in at a sleek 0.59 inches thin, with a 13.5-inch 2K touch display surrounded by slim bezels. It boasts an 80% screen-to-body ratio. It’s also durable and lightweight thanks to a magnesium-aluminium chassis, weighing in at 1.2 kg.
The Spin 3 offers up a larger 14-inch Full HD display with 16:9 aspect ratio and thin bezels provide a 78% screen-to-body ratio. It also weighs in at a mere 1.5 kg and measures in at 0.67 inches thin. The chassis, in this case, is just aluminium.
What powers both devices are Intel’s latest 10th Gen Core processors and they both support fast charging. The Spin 5 can boast 15 hours of performance while the Spin 3 can clock 12 hours. The Spin models also come with a handy, fast-charging Acer Active Stylus using Wacom AES (active electrostatic) 1.0 technology. Wacom’s AES technology replicates actual ink and paper with 4096 pressure levels, so writing,
drawing and all pen interactions are made to be as realistic as possible.
