Acer loves playing around with crazy screens on its laptops. The Triton 900’s experiment is a more functional endeavor. It features a CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge that flips, extends, or reclines the 17-inch display. That can definitely make for useful gaming as well as movie-watching.

Users will have a choice between four different usage modes. The display mode helps to share the screen with friends during gaming sessions. Ezel mode allows for playing games on the touch screen. Notebook mode is for traditional gaming scenarios. The stand mode effective turns the Triton 900 into a tablet for gaming or using creator tools. Thanks to some ergonomic design, the trackpad is placed beside the keyboard, giving users natural hand placement for gaming using both the keyboard and trackpad.

The laptop comes with a beefed-up spec sheet featuring the new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU and a 4K IPS display with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. On the chips side, you’ll get a 6-core, 8th Gen Intel i7 processor with up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM. Thanks to the versatile screen, you are obviously imagining using it as a desktop with wireless controllers. That’s why Acer’s including the Xbox wireless receiver allowing play with an Xbox controller.

Smartphone app in tow
