The smartphone for gamers
Keeping in mind the growing popularity of mobile gaming in the region, the Honor Play is designed to deliver what mobile gamers want. It comes with GPU Turbo, which is said to increase overall speed and improve gaming performance.
According to Huawei, GPU Turbo integrates hardware and software to increase graphics processing and the average frame rate. The graphics processing efficiency is increased by 60 per cent, while the SoC (System on Chip) energy consumption is reduced by 30 per cent.
The Honor Play is powered by a Kirin 970 NPU chipset and runs EMUI 8.2. Huawei has also optimised GPU Turbo for certain games such as PUBG Mobile and Asphalt 9, with more to follow.
More than just gaming
The Honor Play also comes with a huge 3,750mAh battery that allows for heavy gaming and entertainment use, which is said to deliver more than 15 hours of video streaming and 95 hours for music playback. For display, we get a 6.3-inch FullView FHD+ display with a 19.5:9 bezel-less display and an 89 per cent screen-to-body ratio.
Another key feature is the AI-enabled front and rear cameras. The Honor Play comes with 16MP+2MP rear dual cameras capable of a variety of features. These include AI motion detection and intelligent recognition, multiple studio lighting as well as AI-enabled smart real-time recognition.
