Xiaomi has made a name for itself by providing high-quality products at the lowest possible prices. This tradition looks set to continue with the Mi Drone.
The latest release is a 4K camera-wielding quadcopter. As expected, the Chinese company has launched the drone at a price much lower than its largest competitor, DJI. The Mi Drone is 2,999 yuan (about Dh1,680), which is peanuts compared to DJI’s $799 (Dh2,935) Phantom 3 4K.
“We want everyone to be able to afford good products,” CEO Lei Jun explained at the launch of the product. “That was why I set up Xiaomi in the first place.”
The camera uses a Sony 12.4-megapixel sensor that can capture video at up to 3,840×2,160 at 30fps.
Hugo Barra unboxed the Mi Drone on Facebook just a little while ago. Click here to see the video.
