The Xiaomi Mi Max is set for launch on July 19, as confirmed by Xiaomi. The announcement was posted on MIUI Forum with some teaser images as well. Here’s what we can expect at its launch next week:
Xiaomi Mi Max 3: Specs
The Mi Max 3 will come with a whopping 6.9-inch full HD+ screen at a 18:9 resolution. It’s paired with an equally massive 5,400mAh battery. Definitely expect a decent battery life but the screen will contribute a fair amount of drain to it. Users will have choices of 3GB to 6GB of RAM as well as 32GB to 128GB storage options. The chipset goes unnamed as of now but it will be a 1.8Ghz octa-core processor. Mi Max phones usually follow the Redmi Note specs so we can assume the Mi Max 3 will pack in a Snapdragon 636 processor as per the latest Redmi Note 5 Pro.
An obvious dual camera setup will be available on the rear, where one of them is reportedly a 12MP camera. The fingerprint sensor comes on the rear as well with the front sporting a 5MP selfie camera and an IR blaster. Expect it to come with Android 8.1 out-of-the-box.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Pro?
There’s also speculation of a Mi Max 3 Pro, but no confirmations from Xiaomi on it yet. We know this thanks to a deleted page on Xiaomi’s website spotted by TechRadar. It claimed specs using the new Snapdragon 710 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Apart from the chipset, there’s no indication to any other different between the Mi Max 3 and Pro. We’ll have to wait and see at the announcement for more insight.
