Vivo’s latest phone might have a triple camera

If you're somehow not content with three sensors on the back, the XPlay 7 appears to also have a dual-camera on its front. Oh, there's also an onscreen fingerprint sensor

Reports of Vivo’s latest phones have begun and OMG they’re huge. The rumoured phones in question are the Xplay 7 (previously known as X20 and X20 Plus).

While major specs remain unknown, two of the most interesting bits of info doing the rounds are concerned with the camera and the device’s security.

Triple camera set-up

Leaked images show that the upcoming device might have a triple camera set-up at the back. There even seems to be a dual camera set-up on the front.

The purpose of the triple camera set-up is yet unknown. If we were to speculate, the camera could be a combination of a RGB, monochrome and wide-angle sensors.

Onscreen fingerprint reader

Last month, the guys at NDTV Gadget 360 showed us how Vivo and Qualcomm are working towards something that Samsung was unable to: an onscreen fingerprint sensor.

Qualcomm and Vivo presented the technology at MWC Shanghai. As you can see, it does work, albeit rather sluggishly. Still, that takes nothing away from how revolutionary the technology is.

Vivo XPlay 7

The Vivo XPlay 7 is turning out to be quite an intriguing device: A redesigned camera, onscreen fingerprint sensor and bezel-less display.

What do you guys think of these rumours?
