Pixel 3 XL renders leak to show a familiar notch

Prolific tech leaker @OnLeaks has let slip renders of what will most likely be Google’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Leaks have generally been making the rounds recently and these renders seem to be the most accurate of what we can expect from Google’s next flagship duo.

We can see a collection of CAD-based renders showing off the design of the Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL in full from all angles alongside a variety of images and a video for each device.

Pixel 3

The Pixel 3 seems to sport a similar dual-tone design on its back, no different from last year’s Pixel 2. The feel of the back though may be different, if rumours are to be believed. The bottom part may be textured this time around or it could support a full-glass design. We’ll only know this at the unveiling.

The front of the Pixel 3 sports a 5.4-inch screen with a taller 18:9 aspect ratio and a lot less bezel than its predecessor. The display is reminiscent of the Pixel 2 XL. The front sports a dual-camera setup this time around, but the rear camera remains singular.

Pixel 3 XL

The Pixel 3 XL sports a very similar back to its predecessor, having focused changes more on its front. At first glance the dreaded top notch comes first into view, with a completely bezel-less side and minimal bezel at the bottom, similar to the 2 XL. The notch will sport two front-facing cameras, the usual sensors and a speaker used alongside the second speaker in the chin. Expect a screen size of 6.2 inches and a taller aspect ratio of 19:9.

We also learn from the leaked renders that the SIM card slot has been moved to the bottom on both devices alongside the USB-C port. The power and volume buttons on the left remain unchanged. Although a coloured power button is hinted.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, but things are becoming more and more clear as we approach Google’s inevitable launch. In past years, the Pixel has launched in early October, and we’re expecting the same this time around.
