The Model X and Model S

Tesla’s finally here in the UAE

Finally. Tesla Motors is officially in the UAE. Elon Musk’s company begin accepting accepting online orders for Model S and Model X vehicles in the country today. Anyone in the UAE can now visit the online design studio to customise and order the Tesla vehicle that best suits their lifestyle. First orders of Model S and Model X vehicles are expected to be delivered in Dubai this summer.

Tesla
The Model S offers an industry-leading NEDC range of 632km. That’s more than two return trips from Sharjah City Centre to Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina

Is there a showroom?

Yep! There’s a pop-up store in The Dubai Mall, Tesla Ranger service and a service centre now under construction near the second interchange on Shaikh Zayed Road, which will open in July. In addition to Dubai, Tesla will open a store and service centre in Abu Dhabi next year.

Supercharger and Destination charger

Tesla has designed the most sophisticated electric vehicle charging network in the world, the Supercharger and Destination charging network, so owners can travel wherever and whenever they want. Tesla has opened two Supercharging locations at The Last Exit in Jebel Ali and in Masdar City, allowing drivers to recharge their vehicles in minutes rather than hours. By the end of the year, Tesla will open five additional Supercharger locations, enabling long-distance travel across every route into and out of the country. The UAE is already home to a number of Tesla’s Destination chargers, which are available at 26 locations across the country, including hotels and shopping malls. Tesla will add more than 50 additional Destination charging locations by the end of the year.

Model S

With an industry-leading NEDC range of up to 632km, Tesla’s Model S packs an all-electric powertrain that lets this luxury liftback accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 2.7 seconds.

Tesla
The Model X is a crossover SUV that goes from 0-100kph in 3.1 seconds. That’s quicker than the McLaren F1 hypercar

Model X

The Model X is an SUV with standard all-wheel drive that offers up to 565km of range (NEDC) on a single charge. The crossover vehicle includes seating for seven adults and all of their gear. The Model X accelerates from zero to 100kph in a zippy 3.1 seconds.

How much will they set me back?

Prices start from Dh275,000 for the Model S and Dh344,000 for the Model X. If you can afford one of them, don’t forget to take us along for a ride.
