Just when Samsung wrapped up, Apple kicks off a recall in the UAE.

The recall is being blamed on a set of faulty batteries. Where have we heard that before...?

According to Arabic Daily Emarat Al Youm, a campaign to recall 88,700 Apple iPhone 6S devices has been launched by the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with Apple.

The recall

The reason for the recall is said to be a fault in the battery. Apparently the devices were recalled after Apple informed the ministry that a certain line of iPhone 6S devices that were manufactured in China during the period of September to October 2015 contain a battery flaw that makes the phone shut down unexpectedly.

The Cupertino brand isn’t the only one to have seen battery issues. Last year, Samsung’s Note 7 debacle was also blamed on faulty batteries from both its suppliers.
