We’re getting more of the wonderful world of online streaming. Almost a year ago, Netflix opened its doors to the UAE and the world. Amazon Prime Video, ever on Netflix’s heels, has done the same. It is now available in more than 200 countries. Amazon has followed Netflix’s lead with a variety of original content. The Grand Tour is their latest and greatest release. Taking the infamous Top Gear crew of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May to create one of the most expensive per-episode shows on TV.
Amazon Prime Video also includes some award-winning TV shows such as the Jeffrey Tambor starring Transparent and the alternative-universe drama The Man in the High Castle. Sign up now at PrimeVideo.com for an introductory offer of only $2.99 (11Dhs) per month for the first six months. That’s almost 70% cheaper than what we pay for Netflix right now. After the first six months you’ll be paying $5.99 (22Dhs). You can even test the waters out with a 7-day free trial before committing. Netflix just launched offline viewing, an option Amazon Prime Video has had available for some time now. It allows you to save video content to watch it while you aren’t connected to the internet.
Amazon Prime Video brings with it a large library of TV shows and movies aside from their own original content. Of course we’ll have access to a limited library just like with Netflix. Hopefully it grows with time, the way Netflix’s did after it launched. Between the two services, TV and movie buffs in the UAE should have a swath of binge-worthy options for the weekend and lazy evenings.
