We’re not even done with coverage of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro and we already have the Mate 20 to discuss. Well, we’ve got a Mate 20 rumour to discuss.
Allegedly the Huawei Mate 20, which won’t be official till the third quarter of the year, has appeared on Antutu. Apparently, someone who has access to the device has ran it on the benchmarking system and boy is there news to be excited about!
Now last year the Huawei Mate 10 was powered by the Kirin 970 chipset. In speed test after speed test, the Kirin 970 blazed past most of its competition. This very same chipset is also in the newly launched Huawei P20 and P20 Pro.
So obviously next we’re expecting the Kirin 980 (or something on the lines of that) this year and it’s got quite a score to look forward to.
The Kirin 980 is expected to use Cortex-A75 high-performance processor cores and will bring along with it a second-gen NPU and will obviously concentrate on increasing its graphics capabilities too. It is also expected to be manufactured on TSMC’s ground-breaking 7nm process and come with better power efficiency.
Assuming it is going to come with the fantastic cameras on the P20 Pro and an under-screen fingerprint sensor, the Mate 20 is already got us very curious six months ahead of time.
