HTC U12+ sample shots reveal a 12MP dual camera setup

HTC’s next flagship will most likely be the HTC U12+. A few sample photographs from an unnamed HTC device have leaked that could potentially be from its upcoming U12+.

HTC U12+: Sample shots and camera specs

The images don’t look the part of what you expect from 2018’s flagship phones but it does give us a clue as to the camera hardware we can expect. To begin, we can definitely make out two different apertures from the images. One is a f/1.8 and the other is a f/2.6. A single camera sample shot can be seen with the wider f/1.8 aperture. The others are shot with the narrower f/2.6. All four images clock in at 12 megapixels.

What this tells us is that the HTC U12+ will come with a dual camera setup, both functioning at 12MP. It’s primary camera will sport the f/1.8 and the f/2.6 will be the secondary camera, possibly a telephoto lens.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard rumors regarding the HTC U12+’s camera setup. Earlier rumors had suggested a dual camera setup running 12MP and 16MP. The front-facing clicker has been rumored to either be a simple 8MP setup or a dual 8MP+8MP camera setup.

HTC U12+: Device Details

Device image leaks of the HTC U12+ can clearly be seen to have a dual camera set up in the front. The images also reveal the lack of a notch (thankfully). We can also see HTC isn’t meddling around with the design too much from it’s U11+ heritage. It’s keeping the polished, glossy look and the golden finish, something we’ve already seen on the Desire 12.

No news on when we can expect HTC to confirm spec details and release dates for the U12+.
