One of the many announcements made during Apple’s last launch event was the latest Apple Watch Series 2. This year the wearable comes in a series of enhanced editions, including the Apple Watch Nike+. The sporty new device will be available in the UAE from Saturday, October 29.
The 38mm version will be available for Dh1,499 and the 42mm model for Dh1,599 at all leading retail outlets, authorised resellers, Apple.com and Nike.com, the Cupertino-based tech brand said in a statement.
The Apple Watch Nike+ is primarily aimed at an athletic market desperate for a cool Apple-branded wearable. The new gadget comes with the new Nike+ Run Club app, which not only reminds but also motivates you to go for a run, provides coaching plans that can track your progress and adjust to your daily schedule, and has built-in GPS to track your pace, distance, and route — even if you don’t have your iPhone on you. It is water-resistant up to 50 metres.
“Running is one of the world’s most popular activities for staying in shape and being healthy, and with Apple Watch Nike+, runners will be even more motivated to achieve their performance goals,” said Jeff Williams, Apple’s chief operating officer.
The Apple Watch Nike+ also features special bands and watch faces available only with this edition. Apart from all these features, the device obviously can completely sync with your iPhone and remind you of your events and much more.
“Apple and Nike share a passion to make life easier and more fun and we’re excited to bring a great running experience to consumers around the world,” said Trevor Edwards, president of the Nike Brand. “Apple Watch Nike+ with Nike+ Run Club app combine to deliver a powerful device with a simple running solution for all athletes and is another example of Nike’s commitment to bringing innovative products to the market.”
