After a round of rumours for just over a month, Samsung has announced the Galaxy A9, 3rd successor in its mid-range series. Pricing and availability aren’t announced yet but specs have been released.
The Galaxy A9 has a 6.0-inch AMOLED display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32 GB of on-board storage, microSD card expansion up to 128GB, dual-SIM card support,a 13MP back camera with OIS, 8MP front camera, a well sized 4,000mAh battery and Qualcomm’s Quick Charge. There’s also a home button/fingerprint sensor that brings along support for Samsung Pay. It will also ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board (no idea why!?).
Considering Samsung’s dominant presence in the region, we can expect it here soon. At the right price, considering the specs, do you see yourself choosing the Galaxy A9 over, let’s say, the Note 5? Or S6 Edge Plus? Comment below and let us know.
